Which Side Are You On

The faculty and staff at Washington High School sing an adapted version of Florence Reece’s ‘Which Side Are You On’ in support of the 2014 UESF contract campaign. The goals of the campaign: Wages that enable educators to work and live in San Francisco, professional respect for paraprofessionals, and full support for Elementary School students.

Thanks to music teacher Ana Karney and Building Rep Jay Kozak for putting this all together. A repeat performance was done at the Board of Eduction meeting on April 22, 2014.

Speaking Up For Paras

Paraprofessionals do incredible work every day for our most vulnerable students and families. Watch this powerful video featuring paraprofessional Teanna Tillery, as she explains the great work that she does every day in San Francisco Schools. Dozens of paras, including Teanna, are still without a job in SFUSD. We are in danger of losing these valuable employees, and the important work they do to keep our most at-risk students in school.
