Save Money with New Commuter Benefits Program
Ongoing Enrollment - Enroll by the 10th of each month to receive benefits two months outwww.myfbmc.com
UESF members are now able to save up to 40% on the cost of approved-commuting costs, through SFUSD's new Commuter Benefits Program. The new benefit, negotiated in the latest UESF contract, offers a chance for UESF members to save hundreds of dollars a year on commuting costs.
Enrollment is ongoing, with benefits starting two months out if you enroll by the 10th of the month. Members sign up by going to the website of the vendor running the program - www.myfbmc.com - or by calling 1-800-342-8017. To enroll, members must register on the website by providing an email address and their social security number.
On the website, participants will be able to purchase passes and tickets for a variety of public transportation options, including:
• Muni passes
• BART tickets
• Translink
• AC Transit
• Ferry passes
• Other public transit agencies
• Vanpool tickets and more.Participants save money, because eligible monthly commuting costs are deducted straight from their check pre-tax. Participants will be responsible for managing their purchases online, taking into account that there is a two-month window until benefits begin. The monthly service fee is $3.15, which is more than offset by the tax savings. Members can purchase up to $230 a month in transportation expenses. Other rules and restrictions apply.
